Endovascular management of intractable hematuria

Case - 1: Patient had cancer of urinary bladder and was bleeding profusely resulting in red coloured urine resembling blood than urine.

Left internal iliac angiogram was done. No particlur lesion was seen.

In view of intractable hematuria vausing significant blood loss, left internal iliac artery's vesicle branch  was occluded using coil.

Post embolization left internal iliac artery angiogram shows that rest of the branches are patent and vesicle branch is occluded

Similar procedure was performed to block right vesicle artery

Post embolization of right internal iliac artery

 

Patient's hematuria stopped after the procedure.

 

Case - 2 : This lady had cancer of cervix which had spreaded to bladder causing severe hematuria

Right internal iliac angiogram shows abnormal circulation in pelvis.

Post embolization  right internal iliac angiogram shows  obliteration of abnormal circulation

Left internal iliac angiogram also shows mild vascular abnormality
drswatee

Post embolization left internal iliac angiogram shows obliteration of abnormal circulation.

 

Patient's hematuria stopped after embolization.
